The many uses of Sanded and Non-Sanded Caulking

Posted by Jeremy Hehn on May 17th 2017

Caulking is not only a good way to protect corners from water and moisture, it also is the perfect finishing touch for any tile or stone installation job. The beauty of caulk vs. simply using extra grout in those corners is, it doesn’t crack. This also makes it a great option for small repair jobs. Typically that cracked grout will just crack again if you just re-grout it. Instead using a flexible caulk is a sound option that can be more permanent solution to that cracked grout.

There is a downside to this however. Caulk won’t absorb water and dirt at the same rate as regular grout does, therefore, it would be in your best interest to Color Seal after you have done your repair. Not only will your cracked grout issues be gone, but your grout will be restored to that new grout look, and best of all… it will stay that way!

Color Fast caulking and Modern Stone’s Color Sealer come in every grout manufacturers color chart, and we at TileToolsHQ just happen to carry them all! If you have any questions regarding your project feel free to give us a call, we are always happy to answer your questions.
